Fred Laffie, Senior Partner and founder of the Laffie Financial Group, has over 30 years of insurance and estate planning experience. Prior to founding LFG, Fred was a practicing CPA with two large public accounting firms. Throughout his career, Fred has received several industry accolades; he has achieved membership in the industry’s prestigious Million Dollar Round Table each and every year since 1990 and has been acknowledged at its highest level, the Top of the Table for the last 20 years. He is a former co-chairman of the New York State Society of CPAs Estate Planning Committee, and lectures and publishes articles related to the life insurance industry. Fred lives in Plainview, New York and maintains a home in Florida as well. He is an active volunteer and passionate about supporting the Multiple Myeloma Foundation. Fred enjoys family travel, golf, and loves nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren.
Scott Laffie, CFP®, CLU®
Scott Laffie joined Laffie Financial Group as a Partner in 2008. In 2011, Scott earned his Certified Financial Planner® designation upon meeting the rigorous education, examination, experience and ethic requirements. Prior to joining the Laffie Financial Group, Scott worked in public accounting providing tailored financial guidance to clients. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance & Accounting from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland in 2006. Scott currently resides in Woodbury, New York with his wife and two daughters. Scott enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid golfer and tennis player. He is a passionate supporter of the Multiple Myeloma Foundation.
Scott Kohen is a Partner at the Laffie Financial Group, and has been working in financial services since 2007. As an advisor, his primary focus is estate and insurance planning for individuals, families and business owners. Prior to joining LFG, Scott managed his own advisory office with Edward Jones Investments and was a Regional Consultant for Alliance Bernstein in New York City. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business & Marketing from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland in 2000. Scott currently resides in Merrick, NY with his wife and two children. He is active with various charities and is current President of a local non-profit.
James Stultz joined the Laffie Financial Group in 2020. James leveraged his diverse background by honorably serving in the New York & North Carolina Army National Guard. He also served his community as a Deputy Sheriff.
James is originally from Great Neck, New York where he attended Farmingdale State College obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. He later entered in the field of compliance specializing in Risk Management before finding his true passion in the Life Insurance Industry. He is dedicated about working with families and business owners to find creative solutions to secure their financial well-being.
James currently resides in South Florida with his wife and two children. He is extremely committed to serving his community and loves spending time with his family, traveling, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Jeannette Bernardo has been with the firm since its founding in 1989. As Office Manager, she oversees all aspects of the Laffie Financial Group operations to ensure that all clients’ experiences are professional, efficient and complete. With over 20 years of experience in sales and customer service, she provides knowledgeable support to our clients on all levels of the insurance process.

Marcia Fisher joined the team in 1998 on an administrative level. During her time working here she has honed her skills in customer support, specifically excelling in her understanding of existing insurance specifications and maintenance. She also possesses extensive knowledge in producing sales illustrations featuring products to match our clients’ variety of needs. Prior to joining the Laffie Financial Group, Marcia worked in the medical field as an administrator in the tumor registry, laboratory and pathology departments.

Susan Page joined the team in 2007 with over 15 years of experience in group health insurance administration. Susan oversees and assists with the day to day operations for over 350 of our clients’ group insurance plans which include major medical, life, dental and vision.
New Business Coordinator
Kelly Amar joined the team in 2019. As The Laffie Financial Group’s New Business Coordinator, she facilitates all life insurance, disability insurance, and long term care case processing from start to finish. Her extensive background in financial services with office management and customer service skills will ensure a positive and pleasant experience for all of our valued clients and business partners.
